As promised, I've finally sat down and written about our most recent cruise on board the Wonder of the Seas. It was an amazing week and worth every set of wisdom teeth I had to pull to afford it!
I'd like to start off by briefly mentioning the three different suite categories on Royal Caribbean Ships -- Sea Class, Sky Class, and Star Class. The amenities (and cost) increasing as you travel up from the horizon. The Ultimate Family Suite is right up there with the Royal Loft Suite as the largest and most luxurious suites on the ship so naturally its a Star Class suite. The big additions with star class are the dining package, beverage package, and the best by far-- the Royal Genie (more on that to come). Spoiler alert - Our genie Simona was phenomenal!

The Star Class experience started when we arrived at the port. There was a special check-in area right when you drive up to offload all your luggage to be taken directly to your suite. You're assigned a agent who escorts you through security and directly to the front of the line at check-in. After that you go to the Suite lounge where you wait to be escorted on the ship by your genie. It was only 5 minutes before Simona met us and in less than 8.5 minutes, we were on the ship, check-in at our muster station, and walking through the door to our suite. See below of a sped-up video of this. 8.5 minutes from port to suite is just insane.
When we entered the suite, we saw decorations to celebrate my birthday. In the weeks leading up the the cruise, we were in continual contact with Simona to learns what activities we wanted to do, restaurants we wanted to eat at, as well as anything we were celebrating.
If you haven't had a chance to check out my suite walk-through, you need to ASAP. The Ultimate Family Suite is INSANE! You honestly don't even have to leave the suite all week if you don't want to.
Prepare yourself for a massive food coma. In addition to the unlimited dining at any restaurant, you also get an endless supply of food delivered to your room. Its literally anything you request. I personally love fresh mango, so every day I had an afternoon delivery of 2 plates of sliced mango. And then there's the surprises your genie arranges, like an ice-cream sundae bar. Sometimes it seemed like Simona read our minds and like genie magic, we got exactly what we needed.
On the ship there were so many activities, it was tough to fit them all in. Star class guests get a private 1 hour session on the flowrider (surf simulator). There are so few people there that its practically a practice as much as you want session. You also get priority access to the ice show (no reservations needed - front row seats reserved). The same goes for laser tag (no waiting in line- escorted right to the front). Seats are also reserved at the Aquatheater show. Plans can be decided last minute and changed over and over based on what your family needs at that moment. It really is as stress-free as possible.
Our ports we stopped at were Perfect Day at Coco Cay (Royal Caribbean's private island), Roatan Honduras, and Costa Maya Mexico. One little known benefit of staying in the Ultimate Family Suite is that you get free admission to Thrill Water Park on Coco Cay. Unfortunately, there's no front of the line access like you get on the on-ship water slides. In Roatan, we did an Island Tour and Sloth Experience at Daniel Johnson's Monkey and Sloth Hangout. I couldn't recommend it more. It was a great experience and our kids were absolutely beaming when they held the sloths.
On the ship, we also spend a lot of time at Splashaway Bay (the water area designed for kids), Adventure Dunes (the mini-golf course), and the Playscape (a playground geared a bit more towards younger kids).
My trip report barely scratched the surface of what we did and what our genie was able to make happen for us. It was truly a perfect vacation.
